Lucid Air has the fastest factory home charger in the US.
The Lucid Connected Home Charging Station does 19.2 kW (80A on a 100A circuit) — matching the Ford Charge Station Pro as the fastest residential AC charging available. For a Lucid Air Grand Touring, that’s ~80 miles of range per hour at home.
Catch: 80A install requires significantly more electrical work than 48A. Most LA homes need a panel upgrade (200A minimum, sometimes 400A panel split). Plan for $4,500–$8,500 for the full 80A install.
For 95% of Lucid owners, a standard 48A install gets you ~50 miles of range per hour — still overnight-full from empty, far less hassle. Worth discussing with your installer.
Polestar 2, 3, 4 home charging.
Polestar EVs use standard J-1772 connectors. Max home charging rates:
- Polestar 2 — 11 kW (48A on 60A circuit)
- Polestar 3 — 11 kW (48A on 60A circuit)
- Polestar 4 — 11 kW (48A on 60A circuit)
Same as virtually every other modern EV that isn’t a Ford Lightning or Hummer. Any standard 48A Level 2 charger works perfectly — ChargePoint, Tesla Universal, Wallbox, Emporia, Grizzl-E.
